The EU (European Union) is not happy with the laws that France wants to use with regard to open competition for European online casinos. The EU wants a change in that law to be more explicit that these gambling operators from other countries be under the same licensing regulations from their countries when applying for a French casino license.

France has said that they will make it clearer as to what the criteria will be for the online gambling operators in order to be selected for a license. France will probably agree to some of the changes that the EU has suggested, according to Eric Woerth, the French Budget Minister.

The European Union has been aggressive in its checking to see if European and other countries have been breaking trade agreements with their online gambling laws. America is one of those countries and until now they have been against coming into compliance with the EU.

Every EU country has its own laws on online gambling. Some have made gambling online legal with proper regulations, while others have banned online gambling. The laws keep on changing as the market keeps on changing due to economic situations and other aspects.
